HeedHome

Terms of Use

Last updated 6 October 2026

HeedHome is an app made by Taralia LLC that reminds you when things in your home, your car and your family's documents are due. These terms are the agreement between you and us for using it. We have written them in plain language, and where something is a real commitment we say so.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By downloading or using HeedHome you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. HeedHome is meant for adults managing a household.

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use HeedHome on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from.

2. What HeedHome does

You list the things you own and the documents you hold, with the dates that matter: expiry dates, renewals, warranties, services and filter changes. HeedHome sorts them into a timeline and reminds you before each one is due. It can read dates and details from a photo, keep a history of what was done, and back up your data.

HeedHome works without an account. Everything you enter is stored on your phone, as the Privacy Policy explains.

3. Reminders are a help, not a guarantee

You remain responsible for your own deadlines. HeedHome is a reminder tool. It is not a legal, immigration, tax, insurance or official records service, and it does not file, renew or apply for anything on your behalf.

A reminder can fail to reach you for reasons outside the app: notifications turned off, Do Not Disturb or Focus modes, battery saving, a phone that is off or lost, the app being deleted, or a date that was entered wrong. Many renewals also need to be started weeks or months before the expiry date (passports and visas often do), and some countries refuse entry with a passport that has less than six months left.

So please check the real date on the document itself, and check renewal times and rules with the office that issued it. We are not liable for fees, fines, penalties, missed travel, lapsed cover or other loss caused by a missed or late renewal.

4. Scanning and suggested schedules

Text read from a photo can be wrong. The app always shows you what it read before saving, and you should check the date against the document before you tap Save.

Suggested schedules (for example, how often to change a furnace filter or test a smoke alarm) are general guidance. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and local rules for your own equipment, and use a qualified professional for gas, electrical, structural or other safety-critical work. Nothing in HeedHome is professional, legal or safety advice.

5. Your data is on your phone

You own everything you put into HeedHome. Because it is stored on your phone and not on our servers, we cannot see it, restore it or recover it. If you lose your phone or delete the app without a backup, the data is gone.

Keeping a backup is up to you. Back up to a file is free on every plan, and Pro adds automatic backups to your own iCloud Drive or Google Drive. Exporting and deleting your data are never paywalled.

Only put information into HeedHome that you have the right to keep. If you add household members, keep only what is needed to remind you about their documents.

6. Free, Pro and payment

HeedHome is free to download and use. Some features, such as more things, family members and automatic cloud backup, need HeedHome Pro. The app shows what each plan includes and the price, in your currency, before you pay.

If we change a price, it will not apply to a period you have already paid for, and the store will tell you before a higher price renews.

7. Apple and Google services

Some features rely on services run by Apple or Google: notifications, text reading, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Google sign-in, and store payments. Your use of those services is also covered by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or for what they do with data under their terms.

8. Acceptable use

Please do not:

9. Changes and ending

We may update HeedHome, including adding, changing or removing features. If we change these terms materially, we will update the date at the top and, where it matters to you, tell you in the app. Continuing to use HeedHome after that means you accept the new terms.

You can stop using HeedHome at any time by deleting the app (back up first if you want to keep your data). If you break these terms, your licence to use the app ends. If we ever stop offering HeedHome, the data already on your phone stays yours, and the backup file format is plain JSON so you can still read it.

10. Liability

HeedHome is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it accurate and reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every reminder or scanned date will be correct.

To the extent the law allows, Taralia LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, missed deadlines, fees or fines. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to HeedHome is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for HeedHome in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

11. If you got HeedHome from Apple's App Store

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts.

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
