Privacy Policy

HeedHome is made by Taralia LLC. It reminds you when things in your home, your car and your family's documents are due. Everything you put into it is stored on your phone. There is no HeedHome account, and we do not run a server that receives your data. This policy explains what stays on your phone, the small amount that leaves it, and where it goes.
The short version.
- Your things, dates, people, notes and photos stay on your phone. We never receive them.
- Photos of ID documents are read on your phone and never saved. From an ID we keep only the expiry date.
- No account, no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics of our own. We never sell or share your data.
- You can export or delete everything, any time, on any plan.

1. What is stored on your phone
HeedHome keeps everything you enter in a database inside the app, on your phone:
- Your things: the name, kind and location of each thing (a furnace filter, a car, a passport), and any brand, model, serial number and notes you add.
- Dates and reminders: expiry and due dates, how often things repeat, and when you want to be reminded.
- History: what was done and when, and any cost or notes you record.
- People: the names of household members you add, and whether each is an adult or a child, so a document can show whose it is.
- Photos you choose to keep: appliance labels and receipts, only when you turn on "Keep this photo". ID photos are never kept (section 2).
- Settings: reminder times, the app lock, and your cloud backup choice.
None of this is sent to Taralia LLC. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it for you if it is lost. That is why the app makes it easy to back up (section 4).
2. Scanning documents, labels and receipts
The camera reads text on your phone itself: Apple's Vision framework on iPhone and Google's ML Kit on Android. The picture is not uploaded to us or to anyone else to be read.
- ID documents (passports, driver's licenses, ID cards and the like): the photo is deleted from your phone right after it is read, or no photo is taken at all when a license barcode is read live. From the passport lines or the barcode we keep only the expiry date, never the name, address, date of birth or document number. After each scan the app shows you exactly what was kept and what was not.
- Appliance labels and receipts: the brand, model, serial number, purchase date or warranty you confirm are saved. The photo is kept on your phone only if you turn on "Keep this photo".
- HeedHome does not use face detection or face recognition, and it does not collect biometric information.
3. What leaves your phone, and where it goes
This is the complete list.
| Recipient | What reaches them | When |
|---|---|---|
| Google (ML Kit, Android only) | Technical usage statistics: phone model and Android version, app name and version, how long a scan took, image size and format, error codes, and a scanning-session identifier. Never the picture and never the text it read. | When you use the scanner on Android. Google says it uses this to measure and improve ML Kit and does not pass it to third parties. |
| Your own Google Drive or iCloud Drive | Your backups (section 4) | Only if you turn on cloud backup. They go straight from your phone to your account, never through us. |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Your payment for HeedHome Pro | When you buy. Payment details go to Apple or Google, never to us. |
| RevenueCat | A random identifier created by the app (not your name or email) and the record of what you bought | Only once you open the Pro screen: to show prices and handle buying or restoring Pro, and after that when the app starts, so it knows your plan. Never if you don't open the Pro screen. No card details. |
On iPhone, Apple's Vision framework sends nothing. Apple and Google may also collect their own information about app downloads and, if you allowed it in your phone's settings, crash reports. That is covered by their privacy policies, not ours.
Reminders are scheduled by your phone itself. No reminder passes through a server. A reminder's text (for example "Passport — Sam expires in 30 days") can show on your lock screen; your phone's notification settings let you hide previews.
4. Backups
Because your data lives only on your phone, deleting the app or losing the phone deletes it too, unless you have a backup. There are three kinds, and you control all of them.
A backup file (every plan)
Settings → Back up to a file creates one file with everything in the app, including kept photos, and opens your phone's share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice: Files, a folder, email, iCloud Drive, Google Drive. The file is not encrypted, so treat it as carefully as the information in it.
Cloud backup (Pro)
If you turn it on, HeedHome copies your data to your own iCloud Drive (iPhone) or Google Drive, in a folder named "HeedHome" (iCloud) or "HeedHome backup" (Google Drive), on the schedule you choose. The last five backups are kept. These copies are stored by Apple or Google under your account and their terms. Taralia LLC never receives them and cannot read them. You can turn cloud backup off at any time and choose whether to delete the copies.
Your phone's own backup
An iCloud backup of your iPhone includes HeedHome. On Android, Google's automatic app backup can restore your list, dates and history to a new phone; kept photos are left out of it. Both are run by Apple or Google under your phone's settings.
5. Google Drive and Google sign-in
If you choose Google Drive for cloud backup, you sign in with Google and grant HeedHome one permission: access to files HeedHome itself creates in your Drive (Google calls this drive.file). HeedHome cannot see, open or change any other file in your Drive. Google also tells the app your account's email address, which is shown in Settings so you know which account is connected. It stays on your phone.
HeedHome uses this access only to save, list, restore and delete its own backups, when you or your backup schedule ask it to. The data is not sent to us, not used for advertising, not sold, and not used to train AI models. HeedHome's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can remove HeedHome's access at any time in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps, or by turning off cloud backup in the app.
6. What we never collect
- No account, so no email address or password held by us.
- No location, contacts, calendar, microphone or messages.
- No advertising identifier, no advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools of our own in the app.
- No face or fingerprint data. If you turn on the app lock, Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint is checked by your phone, and the app is told only whether it succeeded.
7. Deleting your data
- Settings → Delete everything erases all of HeedHome's data on your phone. If cloud backup is on, you can choose to delete your cloud backups at the same time.
- Uninstalling the app deletes its data from the phone.
- Copies you made yourself (backup files you saved or sent, cloud backups you kept, your phone's own backups) are not deleted by either. Delete them where you stored them.
We have nothing to delete on our side, because we hold none of your data. If you email us, we keep that email only as long as we need it to help you.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you have the right to see, copy, correct and delete your personal data. In HeedHome you can do all of that yourself, immediately: the data is on your phone, you can edit any entry, Back up to a file gives you a full copy, and Delete everything erases it.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK: the processing described here happens on your device at your request. Where we do process personal data (for example, an email you send us), our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you. You may complain to your data protection authority.
If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law: we do not sell or share personal information, as those laws define it, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Questions about any of this: contact@heedhome.app. We reply within 30 days.
9. Security
Your data is protected by your phone's own encryption and its screen lock. HeedHome adds an optional app lock (Settings → Privacy → Lock HeedHome) that asks for Face ID, a fingerprint or your phone's passcode. It is a screen lock, not extra encryption. Cloud backups travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS) to Apple or Google. Backup files you save yourself are not encrypted.
10. Children and family members
HeedHome is meant for adults managing a household. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
A parent can add a child as a household member so the child's passport or ID shows whose it is. That entry holds the name the parent types and the document dates, stays on the parent's phone, and is never sent to us.
11. This website
heedhome.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. Like any website, the hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to run and protect the site.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change means more of your data would leave your phone, we will say so in the app before it happens.
